When Your Life Becomes a Story

“Then the Lord saw that the wickedness of man was great on the earth, and that every intent of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually.” – Genesis 6:5

Every decision you make is a brick in the foundation of something bigger than you. Whether you realize it or not, you're building a legacy—day by day, choice by choice. The question isn’t if you’ll leave a legacy. The question is what kind you’ll leave behind.

Genesis 6:5 paints a haunting picture of a generation that forgot God. Their hearts were consumed by wickedness, and the ripple effect of their rebellion shaped the world that followed. But legacy doesn’t only work in the negative. Scripture is also full of people who, through quiet faithfulness, changed history. Noah built the ark. Ruth chose loyalty. Paul endured for the Gospel. Their lives still speak.

Your obedience matters. Your choices echo. Your faith, even in unseen moments, can leave fingerprints on the souls of your children, your community, your future church family. You are planting seeds that someone else may harvest.

It’s easy to live like today is all that matters. But God is calling you to live like eternity is real—and like someone else is watching, because they are. When you choose integrity, when you choose obedience, when you walk in truth—it builds something strong. Something that outlives you.

This world is loud with distraction. But the people who live with legacy in mind are rare. And they’re the ones who leave a mark that lasts.

Reflection Question
What are you building with your life right now? Is it something that points others to Jesus, or something that ends with you?

Legacy isn’t what people say about you when you're gone. It’s the faithfulness you choose when no one’s looking—and the fruit it produces long after you're finished.

Prayer
Father, help me live today with eternity in view. Let my decisions reflect Your truth. Let my habits shape a legacy that draws others toward You. Use my life to leave something that lasts. Amen.
