Preparing for Future Holiness
“Therefore, since we have a great high priest who has ascended into heaven, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold firmly to the faith we profess.” – Hebrews 7:26
The choices you make today are shaping the marriage—or the singleness—you’ll live tomorrow. Whether you’re waiting for the right person or already walking in covenant, your daily obedience matters. God’s call to purity isn’t about punishment or limitation; it’s about preparation. He’s forming your heart, teaching you self-control, and strengthening your character for the kind of love that lasts.
In Scripture, purity is never passive—it’s pursuit. It’s saying, “God, I trust You enough to wait for what’s holy instead of settling for what’s easy.” Every decision to guard your heart, flee temptation, or set boundaries is an act of worship that declares your confidence in His timing. You’re not missing out by staying pure—you’re making space for something sacred.
If you’ve stumbled or fallen, grace hasn’t run out. The same Jesus who calls you to holiness is the One who restores your soul. He doesn’t shame you for the past; He prepares you for a redeemed future. Your story isn’t defined by failure but by faithfulness—the faithfulness of a God who makes all things new.
So prepare now. Pray for the person you may one day marry. Surround yourself with community that encourages holiness. Let Christ refine your heart so that when covenant comes, you’re ready to love with a purity that reflects His own.
Reflection Question
What steps can you take today to prepare for a future defined by holiness and not compromise?
Purity isn’t about what you’re withholding—it’s about what you’re preparing for. Every ‘no’ to sin is a ‘yes’ to holiness.
Prayer
Lord, help me to see my purity not as restriction but as preparation. Shape my desires to reflect Your holiness. Strengthen me to pursue You first, so that every relationship I form flows from my love for You. Redeem my past, purify my present, and prepare my future for Your glory. Amen.
