Faith in Action

Matthew 28:19 - "Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit."

One of the most dangerous things in the church today is the idea that following Jesus is primarily about consumption. We read the books, listen to the podcasts, and sit in the pews, but we never actually get in the game.

But listen—Jesus never called you to be a spiritual consumer. He called you to be a disciple-maker. The Great Commission doesn’t say, "Go therefore and attend Sunday services," or "Go and watch church online in your pajamas." It says, "Go and make disciples." The call is active. It’s uncomfortable. It requires sacrifice.

And here’s the kicker: making disciples doesn’t require a seminary degree or a perfect life. It requires obedience. It’s simply about showing up with the gospel in your words and your life—at work, at the gym, over coffee with a neighbor. Your "Jerusalem" is wherever God has placed you right now.

Reflection Questions:
  • Are you living as a spiritual consumer or an active participant in God’s mission?
  • What specific step can you take this week to intentionally share your faith with someone?

Pray and ask God to show you one person who needs to hear the hope of the gospel. Then, step into the moment. Invite them into a conversation, a small group, or simply share how Jesus has changed your life.

Prayer:
Father, forgive me for the times I’ve treated my faith as a spectator sport. You’ve called me to be in the game. Give me boldness to share Your love, wisdom to see the opportunities You place before me, and faith to trust You with the results. Amen.
