Anchored by Truth in a Drifting World
But as for you, continue in what you have learned and firmly believed. You know those who taught you, and you know that from infancy you have known the sacred Scriptures, which are able to give you wisdom for salvation through faith in Christ Jesus. All Scripture is inspired by God and is profitable for teaching, for rebuking, for correcting, for training in righteousness, so that the man of God may be complete, equipped for every good work.
- 2 Timothy 3:14-17
We live in a world full of voices. News, opinions, trends, influencers — all telling us what to believe, how to live, and who we are. Without a firm foundation, it’s easy to drift. Paul, writing to Timothy, warns of this very danger and urges him to “continue in what you have learned and have become convinced of.” Why? Because Scripture grounds us. It anchors us to truth when everything else shifts.
Paul describes God’s Word as “God-breathed” — not just inspired ideas, but life-giving truth from the very breath of God. It teaches, corrects, rebukes, and trains us in righteousness. It doesn’t always tell us what we want to hear, but it always gives us what we need to grow.
Without the Word, we begin to define truth by our feelings, culture, or preferences. But when we stay rooted in Scripture, we learn to see the world through God's eyes, not our own. We’re equipped — not just to survive the storms, but to stand strong in them, representing Christ with clarity and courage.
Reflection Questions:
“When you build your life on truth that doesn’t change, you won’t be shaken by a world that constantly does.”
Prayer:
Lord, this world is loud. It tells me who I should be, what I should believe, and how I should live. But only Your voice speaks truth that stands forever. Help me anchor my heart in Your Word — not just reading it, but relying on it. Make me someone who is rooted and grounded in Your truth, not swayed by emotion or opinion. Teach me, train me, and shape me into someone who reflects Your wisdom in a world that desperately needs it. Amen.

Reflection Questions:
- What influences have been shaping your thinking lately? Are they rooted in truth or in trends?
- How can you become more anchored in God’s Word as your daily foundation?
