When Weakness Becomes Worship
“But he said to me, ‘My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.’ Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ’s power may rest on me.” – 2 Corinthians 12:9
Most of us spend our lives trying to hide the parts of us that feel weak. We cover up the insecurity, pretend the struggle isn’t that bad, and polish ourselves just enough to pass for strong. But what if the thing you’re trying to hide is the very place where God wants to show up?
Paul knew what it felt like to be worn thin. He had something—a “thorn in the flesh”—that wouldn’t go away no matter how many times he begged God to remove it. But instead of healing, God gave Paul something deeper: a promise. “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness” (2 Corinthians 12:9).
In other words, God wasn’t ignoring Paul’s pain. He was transforming it into a platform for His power. Paul’s weakness didn’t disqualify him—it became the space where God’s grace could shine brightest.
What if the broken part of you isn’t the problem, but the invitation? What if your scars are sacred ground where heaven meets earth—not because you're strong, but because God is?
You don’t have to fake it. You don’t have to fix it. You just have to offer it. God is not glorified in our performance—He’s glorified in our dependence.
Reflection Question
What’s one area of your life where you feel weak—and how might God want to display His power there?
God isn’t waiting for you to get stronger—He’s inviting you to trust deeper. Your weakness isn’t a flaw. It’s an altar.
Prayer
Jesus, I bring You my weakness today. Not to be rid of it, but to see Your power move through it. Help me stop performing and start depending. I trust that where I feel most fragile is where Your grace is most powerful. Amen.
