Living From Rest
“Therefore, a Sabbath rest remains for God’s people. For the person who has entered His rest has rested from his own works… Let us then make every effort to enter that rest…” - Hebrews 4:9–11
“Remain in Me, and I in you... The one who remains in Me and I in him produces much fruit, because you can do nothing without Me.” - John 15:4–5
Let’s be real—rest is easy to talk about and hard to live. It’s one thing to have a peaceful moment with God in the morning… It’s another thing to carry that peace into your afternoon meeting, your kid’s meltdown, or your 47th email of the day.
But here’s the truth: Rest isn’t meant to stay in your devotional time. It’s meant to go with you.
You were never meant to live from burnout to burnout. You were designed to live from rest. Not rest you earn. Not rest you escape into. But rest that comes from staying connected—to Jesus.
Jesus didn’t say, “Come to Me once, get your rest, then go figure it out.” He said, “Remain in Me.” Abide. Stay. Walk. Live in the overflow of being with Him.
This is the invitation:
Rest isn’t the finish line.
It’s the new starting point.
Reflection Questions:
Rest in Jesus isn’t just a moment of relief—it’s the lifestyle of the deeply connected.
Prayer
Jesus, I don’t want to go back to rushing, proving, or performing. You’ve shown me what it looks like to rest—and I want to live from that place. Help me stay connected to You, to walk at Your pace, and to keep my heart rooted in Your love. Let the rest I’ve found in You reshape the way I live. Amen.

This is the invitation:
- Let your soul breathe. Not just once—but every day.
- Let your pace match His presence.
- Let your identity stay rooted in His love, not your performance.
- Let the peace you found this week become the foundation you build your life on.
Rest isn’t the finish line.
It’s the new starting point.
Reflection Questions:
- What would it look like to let rest in Jesus shape your everyday routines, not just your quiet time?
- Where do you need to be more intentional about remaining in Him, not just checking in occasionally?
Rest in Jesus isn’t just a moment of relief—it’s the lifestyle of the deeply connected.
