The Greatest Mountain Already Moved
"But thanks be to God, who gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.” – 1 Corinthians 15:57
The mountains in your life—fear, failure, doubt, sickness—may feel overwhelming. But before you face any of them, you need to remember the greatest mountain has already been moved. At the cross, Jesus took on the immovable weight of our sin and the full judgment of God. That mountain was far heavier than anything we could ever carry, and no amount of human effort could shift it even an inch. But Jesus bore it completely.
When He cried out, “It is finished,” the mountain of guilt was removed. The barrier between us and God was torn down. The grave itself lost its power. If Christ has already moved the greatest mountain for you, what storm, trial, or obstacle is beyond His reach?
This perspective changes everything. We don’t fight for victory—we fight from victory. Our confidence isn’t in how strong our faith feels today, but in what Jesus has already accomplished. If He has already defeated sin, death, and the grave, then surely He can carry us through the lesser mountains of life.
So the next time you feel overwhelmed, don’t just look at the mountain in front of you. Look back at the mountain Jesus has already moved, and let that give you courage to trust Him with the ones still ahead.
Reflection Question
How does remembering the mountain of sin and death Jesus already removed at the cross change the way you view the mountains in your life today?
The greatest mountain that needed to be moved was your sin. And Jesus already moved it at the cross.
Prayer
Jesus, thank You for moving the greatest mountain when You bore my sin and shame on the cross. Help me to live in the confidence of Your finished work. Remind me that no mountain I face today is greater than the one You’ve already overcome. Strengthen my faith to trust You with everything still ahead. Amen.
