From Darkness to Light

"The people walking in darkness have seen a great light; on those living in the land of deep darkness a light has dawned." – Isaiah 9:2

We all face moments where life feels suffocating, where the darkness of disappointment, grief, or fear wraps tightly around our hearts. In those moments, we may wonder if God sees us. The cross answers that question once and for all. Jesus didn't just glance at our darkness—He stepped into it. The Light of the world entered into the pit so that we could be pulled out. When Jesus was separated from the Father, He bore the darkness of sin so that we never have to experience spiritual abandonment. Because He was cast out, we are brought in. Now, no matter how thick the darkness feels, the Light has dawned, and the darkness cannot overcome it.

Reflection Question
What dark moments in your life have made you question God's nearness? How does Jesus's sacrifice give you assurance in those moments?

Christ entered into the deepest, darkest night for us, and He endured the absence of light, the absence of hope, the absence of the Father—so we never would have to.

Prayer
Jesus, thank You for not avoiding the darkness, but entering it for me. When I feel lost or alone, remind me of Your presence. Help me to walk in Your light, even when I can’t yet see the way. Amen.
