Breaking Free from the Graveyard
"Woman, why are you crying?" Jesus asked her. "Who are you looking for?" - John 20:15
Sometimes we get so accustomed to living in our struggles that we forget we've been set free. Like visitors to a graveyard, we keep returning to places of death - old habits, past failures, or lingering guilt - even though Jesus has already declared life over these areas. We might say we believe in forgiveness, but our actions show we're still carrying burdens that God has already lifted. The power of Easter isn't just a historical event; it's a present reality that invites us to step out of our self-made prisons and into the freedom Christ purchased for us.
Reflection
What areas of your life are you treating as if they're still in the grave, even though God has already brought resurrection?
Stop living in a graveyard. When you're walking in grace, worship like he's risen. Pray like he hears, and love like you've been set free.
Prayer
Father, help me to stop visiting the graveyards of my past. Teach me to live as one who is truly free in Christ. Amen.
