Purpose in the Waiting

"But if we hope for what we do not yet have, we wait for it patiently." – Romans 8:25

We often want purpose to move at the speed of our desire, but God is not in a hurry. The waiting seasons—the pauses, delays, and detours—aren’t wasted time; they’re preparation time. Just like a seed beneath the soil, much of God’s work is done in hidden places before it ever breaks through the surface. In the waiting, God is refining our character, deepening our trust, and aligning our hearts with His. The silence doesn’t mean He’s absent—it means He’s working in ways we can’t yet see. Purpose isn’t just found after the waiting; it’s formed in the waiting.

Reflection Question
How might God be shaping your heart and preparing you for purpose in this current season of waiting?

Waiting isn't wasted. It's often the soil where God's deepest work takes root.

Prayer
God, help me to trust you in the waiting. When I can't see the full picture, remind me that you are still at work. Teach me patience and shape my heart while I wait. Amen.
