Trusting Beyond Our Understanding
"For the wisdom of this world is foolishness in God's sight." - 1 Corinthians 3:19
Our natural instincts and understanding can sometimes lead us astray. While God gave us minds to think and hearts to feel, He calls us to trust His wisdom above our own. This doesn't mean ignoring our thoughts and feelings, but rather submitting them to God's greater wisdom. When we acknowledge that our understanding is limited, we position ourselves to receive God's unlimited wisdom and guidance. True wisdom comes not from trusting our gut, but from trusting our God.
Reflection Question
In what situations do you find it hardest to trust God's wisdom over your own understanding?
My gut isn't my God. I mean, I do worship it a little too much, but my gut is not my God. My instincts are not infallible.
Prayer
Lord, help me submit my understanding to your perfect wisdom. Guide me to trust you even when it doesn't make sense to me. Amen.
