Beauty That Lasts
“…They will be called oaks of righteousness, a planting of the Lord for the display of his splendor.” – Isaiah 61:3
There’s something sacred about seeing life come out of what once looked dead. When Jesus stepped out of the tomb, it wasn’t just a victory over death—it was a declaration over all our brokenness: “This is not the end.”
The same God who brings beauty from ashes and anchors us in the storm also promises restoration. Not just comfort, not just survival—but newness. Deep, healing, joy-restoring newness.
Isaiah 61 ends by saying that those God has comforted will become “oaks of righteousness… a planting of the Lord for the display of his splendor.” That means your grief doesn’t disqualify you—it prepares you. Your healing isn’t just personal—it’s powerful. You are becoming someone who reflects God’s beauty to the world.
This is what redemption looks like: not just rescue from suffering, but resurrection through it.
You don’t have to have it all figured out. You just have to keep walking with the God who turns graves into gardens, pain into purpose, and scars into signs of His glory.
The ashes aren’t your final chapter. Glory is.
Reflection Question
Where in your life have you seen God bring beauty from brokenness? How does that shape the way you trust Him with what’s still being healed?
God doesn’t just fix what’s broken. He rebuilds it into something more beautiful than before.
Prayer
God, thank You that my story isn’t over. Thank You that You bring beauty from ashes and turn sorrow into strength. Grow me into an oak of righteousness—not for my glory, but for Yours. Let my life be a testimony of Your faithfulness. Amen.
