Built Together for His Glory

"And let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds, not giving up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but encouraging one another—and all the more as you see the Day approaching." – Hebrews 10:24-25

Do you ever feel like you don’t measure up spiritually? Maybe you look around your church and see people who seem to have it all together—those who pray eloquently, teach with authority, or serve tirelessly—and you wonder if you truly have a place in God’s story. Today’s devotional is a reminder that you do. The Master Builder doesn’t make mistakes. God not only chose you but shaped you intentionally, with unique gifts and life experiences, to fill a role that no one else can.

But there’s a deeper challenge here too: you were never meant to fulfill your purpose alone. The Christian life is deeply personal but never private. We are “living stones,” not a pile of loose rocks. A single stone can’t form a temple; it must be placed alongside others, bonded together by the Cornerstone, Jesus Christ. This means isolation weakens us. It’s in genuine, Christ-centered relationships that our faith is strengthened and our calling is sharpened.

This truth should radically shift how we see community. Being part of a local church isn’t a casual suggestion—it’s God’s design. We need the encouragement of others, and they need the gifts God placed in us. God sees the end result of the building He’s creating while we often only see the messy construction process. Even if you feel like unfinished “batter in a bowl,” He sees the masterpiece He is making. Let that truth inspire courage to take your place, invest deeply in community, and live boldly for His glory.

Reflection Question
Where might God be calling you to step deeper into community—to invest your gifts and receive the gifts of others—so that His glory is displayed more fully through your life?

“Don’t you think that He sees something in you that you don’t see in yourself? Don’t you think He sees the end product of you? And all you see is the batter in the bowl?”

Prayer
Heavenly Father, thank You for designing me with intention and purpose. Forgive me for doubting my place in Your house. Help me to see myself and others as You see us—chosen, crafted, and essential to Your eternal plan. Teach me to connect deeply with other believers so we can reflect Your glory together. Amen.
